Story Rocks!
What you'll need:

  • Flat rocks, you can find them in your driveway or you can even order them here. (Amazon truly has everything)
  • Paint and paint brush. We used acrylic paint from Walmart, nothing fancy.
  • Gloss spray to coat the top to make them shiny!
Now you need to decide what types of objects you are going to paint on the rocks. We had to make 2 sets, 2 boys, 2 sets! I let my boys decide and I painted them. My older son was able to make his own lady bug and turtle and he was so proud!

Once the rocks are painted and done drying, I sprayed them with the gloss, make sure your rocks are completely dry or they will smear.

Later that night our rocks were ready! Some nights we choose only 6 rocks other times we would use all the rocks, we lined them up and created a story in the order the rocks were sitting!

Our stories are a little out there but the boys laugh and love helping make the story up. It's a great way to use your imagination.

Here is one of our stories!
We built a fire in the backyard and then it started raining. Our turtle and horse were cold in the rain, but then it stopped raining and a rainbow came out. There was a beautiful butterfly named Alice flying in the yard, then the sun came out, so we came out of the house. We saw a puddle of water in the backyard so we splashed in it with our good friend Larry Ladybug. We dried off under the tree, then dad came home with a pet eagle, named Edgar!
